The front cover of a school magazine has to be eye catching and informative to get the students reading. It also has to have a well informed and structured contents page that includes what exactly will be in the magazine
The front cover has a unique design and is original. It includes a title which tends to take up the top third of the magazine. It is usually made in a bold font to catch the readers attention. The title of the magazine has to be fitting to the genre and snappy so that the reader remembers it. It has to meet these requirements as it dominates the whole top third of the picture.
The rest of the text is usually in a smaller font and uses alliteration to catch the readers eye. It takes up alot less room compared to the title but is equally as important. This font can also be in bold but this decision is left up to the editor and what they want to be the main focus of the magazine.
The contents page includes headings down the page giving the title of the page and the page number. This page often includes images but more of the clip art style. The images add to the whole ethos of the magazine and establishes the style that they are trying to portray.
